Kyle McKenzie sets record at International event

The highlight of Kyle’s tour was setting a new record in the Pesaro leg of the of the Circuito Nuoto Italia when he won gold swimming in the 200 Individual Medley event. Kyle added to his medal count, winning a bronze in the 200m breaststroke event. In Treviso, Kyle scored a second bronze medal in the 400 Individual Medley lowering his own Eastern Gauteng record time by a further 4 seconds, swimming 4: 46: 05. Later, Kyle enjoyed a photo opportunity with two of the greatest 400 IM swimmers in the world of Chad Le Clos and Laszlo Cseh (a Hungarian swimmer, and 6 time Olympic medalist.) Clayton Malaza praised for exemplary behaviour

Clayton Malaza’s 2017/8 season has started off in a positive direction. Recently he returned from Italy where he represented Aquatics Gauteng team at the Soncini Games. Clayton has also been selected as a member of the official Swim South Africa training squad, for 2018. 200 athletes from many various disciplines of sport (Rugby, athletics, Netball) flew the SA Flag high. Clayton’s highlight was a letter, sent to his mother Charlotte Malaza, by the Eastern Gauteng President Cheryl Knight. Sasol Winter Championships

This gala is an annual event on the swim calander, and always held in Sasolburg in the June school holidays. The Penny Heyns pool is an outdoor facility, and a few years ago, swimmers were starting races, standing on the blocks, while snow flakes fell! This year only Annebel Van Wyk from Aquatic Academy competed. The season has just begun, and Annebel so far, keeps getting faster. If she is able to keep her training up the future of the season appears promising. She set a new record in her age group in the 10 and under, winning the 200m Backstroke, in a time of 3:00:89. Annebel finaled in 7 events winning 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal. In seven events she swam 7 Personal Best times. An

Bernelee wins Top Point Scorer at EGA Junior Short Course Champs

Great weekend of swimming and fun memories. A successful busy weekend at the Boksburg Indoor Pool. Bernelee had an exceptional weekend of competition swimming 9 personal best times. She was awarded the Eastern Gauteng Aquatic, Girl's TOP POINT SCORE, for this Short Course Championship. Her 100m Backstroke in a long course conversion time of 1:12:53 has qualified her to compete in the South African Junior Nationals next year. Bernelee posted 149 points on the board, 8 finals and won 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal.
