
Novice Swimmers take part in 2 galas over weekend
Our Novice swimmers had a busy weekend under the instruction of Coach Jessica Burgess, with assistance from Coach Maddy Martin.
First event for our Novice team was on the Saturday morning. Our Novices swam the Steve Botha Future Champs Gala. An annual event, staged in Boksburg!
Overall it was an awesome gala. All the first time swimmers had fun as well as learning how to compete.
Sunday morning a second set of novices headed off to Mandeville Dolphins Junior League,

2019 South African Open and Youth Aquatic Championships
Academy swimmers Kyle and Bernelee smash long standing provincial records.
These two events run concurrently giving Youth swimmers the opportunity to compete with Senior Elite qualifiers. The gala was held the second week in April in the Kings Park Aquatic Pool, Durban. Kyle Mckenzie and Bernelee Doster both qualified to compete in this grand finale at the end of every season. Eastern Gauteng Openwater Challenge 2019
Bernelee Doster and Kerrin Burgess from the Aquatic Academy took part in this inaugural event hosted by Eastern Gauteng Aquatics at the Homestead dam, last Sunday. Bernelee swam the 3km event in an excellent race, managing to clock under 46 minutes attaining third place overall and the first girl home. Kerrin swam to first place in the 16-18 category, and was the 5th girl home.
