Sasol Winter Championships

This gala is an annual event on the swim calander, and always held in Sasolburg in the June school holidays. The Penny Heyns pool is an outdoor facility, and a few years ago, swimmers were starting races, standing on the blocks, while snow flakes fell!

This year only Annebel Van Wyk from Aquatic Academy competed.

The season has just begun, and Annebel so far, keeps getting faster. If she is able to keep her training up the future of the season appears promising. She set a new record in her age group in the 10 and under, winning the 200m Backstroke, in a time of 3:00:89.

Annebel finaled in 7 events winning 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal.

In seven events she swam 7 Personal Best times. Annebel further lowered these times at the Eastern Gauteng short Course.
