
Aquatic Academy celebrates excellence and 15th year Anniversary
The Aquatic Academy held their 15th Annual prize Giving and Recognition Awards at a fun event held on the 26 April. The trophies had to be allocated, as the swimmers were now competing at a higher standard of competition than before. The Trophy winners were as follows: Michael Brand Trophy - Overall best male swimmer was awarded to Kyle Mckenzie who among many exceptional achievements in this past season, won 2 bronze medals in the SA Youth Nationals for both the 200m Breasts

Kyle returns with 2 Bronze Medals from South African Youth Nationals
The South African National Youth Championships were held in conjunction with the SA Open National Aquatic Championships at the Kings Park pool in Durban. Kyle Mckenzie, and Savannah Mitchell from ESP and the Aquatic Academy, both qualified for this event and swam under the Eastern Gauteng Aquatics banner. The 6 member team were awarded with track tops, towels, and a different shirt for each day. Kyle won bronze medals in the Individual Medley in a personal best time of 2.13.6

Level 2 Regional Championships
Level 2 Regional Championships held at Delville in Germiston saw Savannah Sheerin finaling in 10 events and winning 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 bronze medals. Savannah on her own scored a tally of 89 points. This amazing team swam hard and ended up on the final count scoreboard in 10th position (more than 70 clubs took part) Kailyn Murrin won 2 bronze medals and swam 3 finals scoring 23 points. SA Regional Level 3 Championships
ESP competed with a small team of 9 swimmers at the SA Regional Level 3 Championships, staged in Pretoria. The top point scorers for the ESP Aquatics Team were Colette Fourie with 18 points who swam 4 finals and won a bronze medal. Second was Caitlin Stott with 16 points scored from 5 finals events. Other ESP Level 3 Aquatic finalists were Murray Copeland (3 Finals), Bernalee Doster (3 Finals), Ashleigh Stock (3 Finals), Kerri lyn Claase (2 Finals) Jonathan and Nicholas Smith
